Privacy policy

The short version

• Kob Budgeting has no accounts. There's nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
• Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. We don't run servers that store your budget, and we can't see it.
• Kob doesn't connect to your bank, show ads, use analytics, or track you.
• You can delete all of your data at any time, right in the app.

The information you enter

Kob stores what you choose to enter, such as transactions, budgets, bills, subscriptions, debts, savings goals, paychecks and your settings. It's saved only on your iPhone, in storage that belongs to the app and is protected by iOS data protection, which keeps it encrypted while your iPhone is locked. We never receive it.

Your iPhone may include Kob's data in the backups you make to iCloud or a computer, depending on your iPhone's backup settings. Those backups are handled by Apple and are covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Features that run on your iPhone

• Backup files. If you choose "Back up to a file," Kob creates a copy of your data and saves or shares it wherever you pick, such as Files, AirDrop or email. The file isn't password protected, so keep it somewhere private. We never receive it.
• Reminders. Bill reminders are notifications scheduled on your iPhone. They aren't sent through our servers.
• Face ID. If you turn on the Face ID lock, iOS checks your face or passcode and only tells Kob whether it matched. Kob never receives your face data or passcode.
• Apple Pay logging. If you set up the optional Shortcuts automation, the Shortcuts app passes the amount and merchant of each tap-to-pay purchase to Kob on your iPhone. Kob doesn't access your Wallet, card numbers or bank.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details. Apple shares sales reports with us that don't identify you. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Information we don't collect

Kob doesn't collect your name, email address, location, contacts, bank login, card numbers, or bank account numbers. It doesn't include advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.

When you contact us

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you, and we delete it when it's no longer needed.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your iPhone, you're in control of it. To delete it, open Kob, go to Settings, and choose "Erase all data," or delete the app. Backup files you've saved, and your iPhone's own backups, are deleted the same way you'd delete any other file or backup.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies or ads. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't identify you, and doesn't track you across websites.

Children

Kob Budgeting is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your information is handled, such as adding a feature that stores data outside your iPhone, we'll explain it here and in the app before it takes effect.
